Uche Expects Tough Clash against Valencia

Kalu Uche is expecting “a tough but special” derby contest when his club, Levante UD, battles Valencia tonight in Spanish La Liga tie at the Mestalla.

The Levante attacking midfielder said the Valencia derby game apart from being tough will be “physically and mentally” demanding.

But the former Almeria and Espanyol attacking midfielder believes Les Granotes have put up a good performance in their last two matches despite losing to Sevilla, and now wants his teammates to replicate same spirited display in the derby clash.

“It’s a special game for the fans, and for ourselves too. But above all, it’s important for us to keep working towards our objectives. We appreciate that it’s a derby and we have to be physically and mentally prepared for the game.

“It’s going to be a tough, but special game. We’ve done very well in our last two games and didn’t deserve to lose against Sevilla. I thought we did well attacking-wise against them, and we hope to continue that against Valencia,” Uche said.

The 32-year-old has scored four goals and weighed in with an assist as well in 10 league games since switching to Levante UD from Al Rayyan in January this year.
