Twitter sponsored #EndSARS protest in Nigeria ― Lai Mohammed

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, has claimed that the now-suspended Twitter was behind the well-known #EndSARS protests last year.

The minister made the revelation during a joint House of Representatives committee on information, communication technology, and justice’s investigation into the Twitter ban.

He said: “Twitter raised funds for the endasars protesters before it was hijacked.”

The minister is currently fielding a barrage of questioning from legislators looking into the ban’s circumstances.

The lawmakers are implying that Twitter’s operations have been halted since the microblogging platform removed President Muhammadu Buhari’s message.
