Tsoho clarifies digitization of Lagos Judicial Division of Federal High Court

The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria Honorable Justice John Terhemba Tsoho has clarified the digitization of the Lagos Judicial Division of the Court.

He said the digitization transition scheduled to commence on June 23, 2025 will go on as planned and run concurrently with the manual process.

In a statement signed by Sulaiman Amida Hassan, Esq. the Chief Registrar of Federal High Court of Nigeria , he
urged legal practitioners in Lagos Judicial Division and environs to note as the court is adopting a hybrid implementation of the policy.

It explained that the decision has been taken to ensure a seamless and inclusive adoption of the e-filing transition, while addressing feedback and operational concerns received from stakeholders.

The statement added the clarification was important as the ” reform is being introduced with careful planning and in phases, taking into consideration the infrastructure,capacity and preparedness of users and staff.”

“Also, it is to enhance access to Justice and align with global best practices in Judicial Administration.”

It said “Legal practitioners are still strongly encouraged to obtain and activate their Legal Mail accounts via https://nigerianbar.ng, as possession of a Legal Mail remains a key requirement for accessing the e-filing platform.”

That further updates and a new timeline for the full transition to the e-filing process will be communicated in due course.
