Tragedy as robbers kill Sun man

Tragedy struck Monday morning in Onitsha, the Anambra State commercial nerve centre as robbers shot and killed the Sun Newspaper Sales Representatives, Mr. Fabian Obi.

Obi, who hailed from Umuoji in Idemili North Local Government Area of the state, was said to have been shot at the stomach by a two-man robbery gang who operated with motorbike.

A source said that Obi was doing cash collection of Friday and weekend sales when the robbers struck at about 9am.

He was immediately rushed to hospital after he was shot but died at the hospital even before he was attended to. His corpse has been deposited at a morgue in Onitsha.

The Onitsha Police Area Commander, Yahaya Abubukar, who came to the scene of the incident confirmed the incident but stated that the Police are searching for a clue to arrest the perpetrators.

The Sun office in Onitsha for a long time has been under attacks by hoodlums. But Anambrarians have continued to complain of the return of criminals to the state especially Okada robbers.
