A middle age man, who had allegedly been parading himself as a policeman attached to the Motor Traffic Warden of the Ondo state Police Command has been arrested.
A police source, who requested anonymity, disclosed this to journalists, on Wednesday, in Akure, the state capital.
The officer said the identity of the man which couldn’t be revealed due to investigation was allegedly extorting money from commercial motorists at Iyalaje area of Ondo, when he arrested by motor-bike operators, otherwise known as “Okada riders”.
The officer added that the suspect, dressed in a complete police uniform, was requested to show his identity card for prove that he was actually a policeman but refused.
His arrest followed an argument he had with an Okada rider, which led to his being reported to the police.
