Trader remanded for allegedly robbing man of valuables worth N5. 55m at gunpoint

A trader, Emeka Nzube, 34, who allegedly stole items worth N5.55million at gun point was on Friday remanded in prison by an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs T.O. Ojo, said the accused should be kept behind bars, pending an advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions, (DPP).

The defendant, a resident of Jakande, Lekki in Lagos, is facing a two-count charge bordering on robbery.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt. Nomayo Kenrich, told the court that the accused committed the offences with others still at large on June 18, at about 7.35 p. m. in Ojo area of Lagos.

Kenrich said the accused robbed one Joseph Nnamani of his Toyota Corolla car with Reg. No. KJA963EZ, valued at N2.3 million.
