Tor Tiv seeks divine intervention on Tar Tiv

Faced with multifarious challenges ranging from unprovoked herdsmen and other hostile neighbours attack as well as senseless killing of his innocent subjects by politically drunk militia and dare-devil criminals particularly in the Sankera axis of Ukum and adjoining local government areas of Benue state, the Tor Tiv, Orcivirigh Prof James Ayatse with his wife, Chief Mrs Felicia Ayatse organised a powerful crusade and supplicated to God to intervene in the security challenges facing the land since the military options have been overstretched with less positive impact.
The Begha u Tiv who personally led the prayer retreat tagged “Great Gospel Campaign” held penultimate Saturday 17,2017 at Chief Akume Atongo Stadium, Katsina Ala, read from the book of 1Chronicle 22:9 and 2 Chronicle 7: 14 restated his call on Tiv people to surrender themselves unto the true and living God since according to the paramount ruler, He is the only one with powers to surmount all the calamities that have befallen Tiv land.
The Paramount ruler emphasised that it is high time Tiv people cried to God to forgive their sins, prayed in truth to attract His blessings and rely on Him to sanctify the land and conquer the enemies as well as restore peace and greatness in Tiv land.
He noted with strong conviction that under his rulership, God will reign over Tiv nation Himself and triumph over their enemies, urging his subjects to eschew hatred, bitterness, anger but their brother’s keepers in order to receive.
The king maintained that the traditional institution under him shall stand on the truth and adjudicate fair justice saying his desire is to reconcile and reunite Tiv sons to speak with one voice.
He warned against indiscriminate sell of ancestral lands and assets (bequeathed to the present generation who are expected to equally passed on to generations yet {unborn) to foreigners stressing that it was one of the main causes of communal conflicts.
The Tor Tiv called on the political elites to play politics of development rather than politics of rancour and acrimony.
