Tinubu Mourns Renowned Industrialist and Business Tycoon, Adekunle Ojora, at 93

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sadness over the passing of Otunba (Dr) Adekunle Ojora, a celebrated industrialist, boardroom guru, and community leader, who has died at the age of 93.

The President extended his condolences to the government and people of Lagos State, as well as the immediate family members, particularly the Ojora and Adele royal families, following the demise of the elder statesman.

In a statement released on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described Ojora’s death as a significant loss to the country, the corporate world, and traditional institutions.

Reflecting on the life of the late business mogul, the President highlighted Ojora’s humility, perseverance, hard work, and generosity, attributes he noted were instrumental to his illustrious career in both the private and public sectors.

He praised Ojora as a towering figure who not only excelled as an active boardroom player but also served as a valuable advisor to national and sub-national governments on best practices for safeguarding the future of institutions.

Otunba Ojora’s distinguished career began in journalism after his training at the Regent Polytechnic in London.

He worked as an assistant editor with the BBC in London in the early 1950s before returning to Nigeria to join the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation as a reporter.

He later transitioned to the corporate sector, joining the United African Company of Nigeria (UAC) as a Public Relations Manager.

He rose rapidly through the ranks to become an Executive Director of the conglomerate in 1962, distinguishing himself as one of the youngest corporate executives of his era.

President Tinubu prayed for the repose of Otunba Ojora’s soul and besought God to grant his family and business associates the comfort and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
