Tinubu Assures Nigerians of Economic Repositioning

President Bola Tinubu has reassured Nigerians that his administration remains steadfast in its commitment to repositioning the nation’s economy, urging citizens to keep faith in the ongoing reforms designed to deliver long-term prosperity and inclusive growth.

Speaking during a one-day official visit to Adamawa State on Monday, the President emphasized that the tough economic decisions taken by his government are already yielding results across key sectors, including education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu highlighted that the federal government’s policy direction has enabled greater financial allocations to states, empowering governors to execute projects that directly impact the lives of the people.

“That is the consequence of us working together, and we will achieve more macroeconomic successes. We will achieve more for this country. We are investing heavily in agriculture and human capital development. We must be able to feed ourselves, feed the country,” Tinubu said.

He praised the synergy between the federal and state governments, noting that the “solidarity” among sub-nationals is “extremely encouraging.”

During the visit, President Tinubu commissioned several landmark projects in the state, including an eight-lane road, an underpass, and a modern high court complex.

He commended Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for utilizing increased federal allocations to drive development.

“Umaru Fintiri, I’ve seen a tremendous amount of renewal, commitment from you in investments in the education of our children, and I commend your vision and commitment to the development of Adamawa State.

“You’re reflecting the true commitment of a government of the people, by the people, and for the people,” the President remarked.

Acknowledging the difficulties Nigerians face due to the economic shifts, Tinubu expressed gratitude to traditional and religious leaders for maintaining peace and fostering unity during challenging times.

“It is not easy to endure macroeconomic changes and the dynamics in our politics, but I thank all of you. To all the title chiefs, to the traditional leaders, to religious faith leaders, thank you for keeping the peace… encouraging the spirit of togetherness,” he said.

He further urged state governments to prioritize poverty reduction and educational quality, reinforcing that sustainable development depends on human capital.

The President also used the occasion to laud the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, describing his leadership as strong and effective in stabilizing the nation’s security architecture.

In his response, Governor Fintiri thanked the President for the visit, assuring him of Adamawa State’s continued support for the federal government’s reform agenda.
