The Daily Times editorial board member, Liman turbaned in Nasarawa

A member of the Daily Times editorial board, Prof. Abdullahi Liman, was turbaned as the Santali of Kwandare on Friday.
The event, witnessed by friends, well-wishers and associates of the don, was held at Kwandare, a town on the outskirts of Lafia, capital of Nasarawa State.
The ceremony was performed by the town’s ruler, Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmadu Al-Makura, a First Class Emir in the state.
Prof. Liman’s appointment as Santali makes him one of the closest confidantes of the Emir and a Council Member in the palace.
Liman, the immediate past Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, studied and taught Mass Communication at the University of Maiduguri.
He obtained a Master’s degree (M.Phil) in Communication Studies from the University of Ghana, Legon-Accra before bagging a PhD in Political Science (International Relations).

He taught Political Science for eleven years at the University of Abuja, rising steadily through the ranks to become the Head of the Department.
He is currently a Professor in the Department of Political Science, Nasarawa State University and a Visiting Professor at Nile University, Abuja.
