Tension mounts in Asaba over recovered two decomposing corpses
Palpable tension has continued to mount in Asaba, the Delta state capital following the police recovery of two decomposing corpses of tricycle riders allegedly killed by unknown persons in the area and dumped in an undeveloped land.
Expectedly, the police had on Monday recovered two decomposing corpses riders in an undeveloped land along Onitsha/Asaba Expressway.
But the Police Image Maker in the order of the residents who had threatened unrest over the alleged frequent killings of persons in the area in the recent times.
Residents of Saint Bridges road Asaba who spoke to our reporter on the condition of anonymity, had alleged that many persons had been killed in mysterious circumstances over the years and their corpses dumped outside area in the bush, and accused the police of not doing enough to secure their lives and property.
But in a swift reaction, the police image maker, Andrew Aniamak, said the police had arrested over four persons in connection with the bizarre activities in the area in the few years, disclosing that among the suspects, is a spray painter currently being detained for further investigation.
He allayed fear of the unknown saying the police will do everything possible to fish out the killers of the two tricycle riders. Investigation revealed that residents of the Saint Bridges road currently sleep with their two eyes open after serial alleged killings of persons, especially tricycle by unknown persons.
