Tension in Anambra community over alleged murder of PG

The Oroma Etiti Community in Anambra West Local Government Area of Anambra State is now boiling with tension following the alleged murder of its President General, Mr. Julius Chiukwudi Chinwuba.
Sources close to the community said that late Chinwuba from Umunzu kindred in Oroma Etiti had running battles with prominent members of the kindred who demanded that he should surrender the position of President General, was said to have been killed on November 15, 2017.
Late Chinwuba whose hands and legs were allegedly tied with bags of sand and blocks and dumped into the River Niger, sailed on November 17, 2017 when he was discovered by the members of the community.
Our source said that Chinwuba, who is also the Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Oroma Etiti was said to have attended a meeting called by the members of his Umunzu kindred on that fateful day, where he was said to have been clubbed to death and dumped into the River Niger.
Before his death, his house was said to have been burnt, and his farms destroyed in Oroma Etiti, all in an attempt to compel him to surrender the position of the President General of the community, which was zoned to his Umunzu kindred, but won on popular votes against the candidate of his opponents from the same kindred.
The traditional ruler of Oroma Etiti community, Igwe Nwozekwe Okeke, who confirmed the incident when he spoke with newsmen on phone, said the police in Anambra State were yet to arrest anybody in connection with the incident.
He said that the suspects have ran away from the community and they cannot pursue them since it is only the police that can go after them, lamenting that there is no serious action by the Police since the murder took place.
However, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of Anambra State Police Command, Nkiru Nwode, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, who confirmed the incident, said she could not speak elaborately on the matter.
