Teenager arraigned in court for defilement

An 18-yrs old, identified as Uchechukwu Eze, was, on Thursday, arraigned before a Lagos State Magistrate Court sitting in Ikeja.

Eze, who was arraigned on a one count charge bothering on sexual assault, was said to have unlawfully assaulted a 5yrs old girl (names withheld) by fingering her vagina.

He committed the crime on August 15, 2016 at Agege, Lagos State.

The defence counsel, Mr. Olowa Akindele, however, pleaded the court that the defendant be granted bail on liberal terms. The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Imohnwa did not object to the bail application.

The presiding magistrate, Magistrate. Bola Osunsanmi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300, 000 with two sureties. She further ruled that one of the sureties must be a blood relation.

The case was however adjourned till  November 7, 2016 for mention.
