TCN Restores 330kV Shiroro–Mando Transmission Line 2

The Transmission Company of Nigeria says it has successfully restored the 330 kilovolt (kV) Shiroro–Mando Transmission Line 2 after completing repair works.

The company’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs Ndidi Mbah, disclosed this in a statement, noting that the line was energised following extensive technical interventions by its engineers.

Mbah explained that the repairs were carried out to ensure the integrity and operational reliability of the infrastructure, with strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

“With Line 1 and Line 2 now operational, both circuits of the Shiroro–Mando 330kV transmission corridor are fully functional.

“This restoration reinforces bulk electricity transmission to the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company franchise area, enhances network flexibility and strengthens overall system reliability,” she said.

According to her, the return of both lines marks a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to strengthen the transmission backbone and ensure reliable electricity delivery nationwide.

Mbah appreciated the cooperation and understanding of customers and stakeholders during the outage and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to building a resilient and efficient national grid.
