Taraba NYSC lauds Gov Ishaku over N5,000 allowance to corps members

Taraba State Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs Florence Yaakugh has commended the Taraba State Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku for approving the payment of about Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00) allowance to Youth Corps members serving in the State.
Mrs. Yaakugh stated this during the closing ceremony of the 2018 Batch ‘C’ (Stream I) Orientation Course held Monday at the Permanent site of NYSC Camp, Jalingo.
“I must mention that recently, His Excellency magnanimously approved the payment of Five Thousand (N5,000.00) State Allowance to Corps members serving in Taraba State”,
“Our Camp is set to experience the touch of the Rescue Captain as approval has been made to improve on the Camp, especially the perimeter fence, as well as curb the menace of erosion”, she said.
She added that in the last three weeks, the Camp officials worked assiduously to mold the Corps members into more responsible citizens.
The State Coordinator further disclosed, “We did so by exposing them to lectures on topical national issues, military drills, physical exercise and Man ‘O’ War leadership training, with the aim of sharpening their agility”.
Rating the performance of the Corps members for the last 21 days of their Orientation Course, Mrs Yaakugh scored them distinction in cleanliness, punctuality and active participation in all activities, attentiveness in lectures and care for one another.
The Corps members’ participation in Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED), revealed that over 90% of them took part in the training.
Assurance of safety of lives and property of Corps members serving in the State as 2019 election draws closer, Mrs. Florence Yaakugh said, ” I wish to passionately appeal to the Executive Governor to continue to place premium on their security and welfare”,
“I am equally soliciting for support and goodwill towards the Corps members from political leaders at the grassroots, royal fathers, youth leaders and the general public”.
