Taraba loses another commissioner, Naphtali Kefas

Taraba state Governor, Darius Ishaku has lost his Commissioner for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Naphtali Kefas who hails from Wukari Local Government Area of the state.

Information gathered by our correspondent revealed that Kefas died on Thursday at the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo.

He died as result of a protracted illness, barely one month after the Commissioner for Rural Development, Alexander Senlo, from Zing Local Government Area died in a Yola hospital.

It was further gathered that the deceased commissioner was once the state President, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) and vandidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency in the 2019 general elections.

Meanwhile, Governor Ishaku has commiserated with the chairman, the people of Wukari Local Government Council and the family of the commissioner.

This was contained in a press statement signed and issued to journalists by the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Media and Publicity, Bala Dan Abu.

Ishaku said the death of Kefas less than a year of his appointment as a member of the state executive council had robbed the state of the services of a patriotic and hardworking gentleman.
