Taraba APC Accuses Danjuma of Inducing INEC with N2b

The All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Taraba State, has alleged that the former Minister of Defence, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, may have induced the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), with about N2billion so as not to declare its gubernatorial candidate, Senator Aishatu Jummai Alhassan, as the winner of the last governorship election in the state.
The youth mobilisation leader of the campaign organisation, Comrade Bala Abubakar Maina, speaking in Jalingo, alleged that INEC collected about N2billion to favour the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), who was also alleged to be the favourite of Danjuma.
Bala said further that “no matter the evil arrangement of PDP to rig this election, it cannot work, because the re-run election will expose them as all hands are on deck to see that the APC mandate in the state is not truncated by PDP.
“I am assuring you that even with T.Y. Danjuma’s support and the bribery money, Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan will, certainly, be the next governor of the state”, Bala said.
The Secretary of Darius Yakubu Campaign Organisation, Nelson Lens, accused APC of being indifferent to the fact that “Taraba is a PDP state and it is, certain, going to remain a PDP ‘s even after the re-run election.
Nelson exonerated Danjuma from having any hand in the affairs of the state PDP, “so there is no basis to accuse him of bribing INEC with N2 billion, “ he is a father to everybody in the state and Nigeria.
“TY is too big for these allegations, with our candidate, who is already marketable, Darius did his homework very well, he has always been good to the people of Taraba, even before his venturing into politics”, Nelson said.
According to him, it was the APC that collaborated with INEC not to declare the PDP candidate as the winner of the governorship election, when it realised that PDP was already leading with over 50,000 votes.
He also accused the Returning Officer of working against PDP to favour the APC, “after announcing that the winner of the governorship election will be announced by 2pm that day, only to cancel some results from Donga Local Government Area, a PDP stronghold, and, at the end of the day, about six Local Government Areas were affected”.
