Tambuwal to APC: I cannot be Intimated to join your party
Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, former Governor of Sokoto State, has stated that he cannot be intimated into joining the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The serving senator representing Sokoto South made the statement at his Sokoto residence on Saturday shortly after his ordeal with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Tambuwal, speaking to a large crowd who came to welcome him, has linked the interrogation to an attempt by the ruling party to lure him into supporting them for the 2027 elections.
“You know they have a saying in APC, once you join APC, whatever are sins, you’ll be forgiven. What they failed to realize is that I cannot be intimidated, I cannot be blackmailed, and no one can tarnish my records that God has given me.
“From my time in the House of Representatives in 2003 as Minority Leader, to Deputy Chief Whip in 2007, to Speaker in 2011, and then as governor of Sokoto for eight years, and now a Senator, I have served my people and Nigeria well,” he said.
Speaking further, he insisted that the corruption charges of N189 billion levied against him are false and baseless while also declared that Nigerians are ready to reject the APC in the 2027 general elections.
He accused the ruling party of creating insecurity across the country and creating policies that make life unbearable for the average citizens.
“We are determined. We are committed to democratic efforts, and we will join forces with all Nigerians to make sure that, by the grace of God, in 2027 we end this misrule and misgovernance in our country.
“Their policies are anti-people. They have no compassion, they have no human feelings,” Tambuwal added.
The Senator assured his supporters that the opposition remains resolute as the countdown to the next election ticks.
“We will not allow any election to be rigged again. By 2027, Nigerians will make their voices heard, and with God on our side, we are headed for victory,” he concluded.
