The Controller-General, Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS), Mr Ja’afaru Ahmed, has raised alarm over the increase in awaiting-trial inmates in the nation’s prisons saying that 48,527 of 72,384 prison inmates in 2017 which represents 66 percent of the population are awaiting trials. Ahmed disclosed
