Suspend all litigations over congresses, Jibrin advises Nasarawa PDP members

The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Walid Jibrin has admonished party members in Nasarawa state to suspend all litigations and withdraw all court cases over the pending state congresses.

He said there is no need for members to drag themselves to court as a result of conflicting interest ahead of the state congress because the national leadership of the party has suspended conduct of state congresses since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Senator Jibrin in a statement in Abuja on Friday, assured stakeholders in Nasarawa state chapter of the PDP that the national headquarters of the party will mediate and settle every crisis relating to the congress.

The chairman said: “In respect of our National Working Committee (NWC) decision to halt all party congresses and meetings due the outbreak of coronavirus in Nigeria in line with the directives of the government and health authorities, I see no reason why some of our party leaders in Nasarawa state should embark on court cases and suspensions of some members.

“Meanwhile I am advising that all cases in courts and suspensions be withdrawn immediately to pave way for amicable settlement.”
