Suspected Badoo attack: Police arrests Landlady, one other over murder of two

Men suspected to be members of the notorious Badoo Cult Group seem to have struck again, this time killing two persons and injuring one in a Church at Temu village in Ikosi Ejirin Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.
It was gathered that the incident took place at about 2.am on Tuesday when the assailants scaled through the fence of the victims and killed them.
Sources have it that the victims whose identities were given as Iyabo, (mother), David who is 4 year-old and Rachael, 8year-old were said to have been members of the Celestial Church of Christ where they were murdered.
While reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police for Lagos, Imohimi Edgal stated that investigation had commenced on the matter.
The police boss revealed that two of the three persons attacked had died while the third person had been discharged from the hospital.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victims had moved into the community less than six months ago and had travelled out of the community for about two weeks but had returned on Monday and killed the next day.
The victim’s husband was however absent when the assailants struck.
Although there are speculations that the victims may have been killed by their neighbours, some of the residents who spoke to our correspondent however called for thorough investigation.
One Mr. Adeshina Idowu, a resident who spoke on the attack said: “The family moved into the community six month ago, we were surprised when somebody came to call me that Mama David is a dead. When I got to the scene, the assailants had killed the woman and her two children who were with her in their apartment.
“I don’t know how the assailants got into the community, because we have security guard patrolling the community. How they entered into the victims’ compound without the guard knowing about it is a mystery to us.”
Another resident who simply gave his name as Tajudeen said, “immediately the incident happened, we informed Agbowa Police Division about the incident.
“What is our concern most in the community was that the family just returned to the village on Monday and they have been killed. Initially we thought it was armed robbery case.”
The Commissioner of Police further revealed that ‘It is a clear case of murder’ saying the landlady and an okada rider has been arrested in connection with the murder.
He said, “One of the victim’s watched television throughout the night with one of the suspects in our custody. It has nothing to do with ritual killing as speculated.”
The bodies of the victims have been evacuated and deposited in the morgue by Policemen from Agbowa Police Division.
