Support Buhari’S Corrupt-Free Vision, Group Urges Nigerians

The Egbe Omo Yoruba in North America has called for the support of all Nigerians for the President-elect General Muhammadu Buhari in his vision for a corrupt free administration. In a congratulatory message to Buhari on his election as President of Nigeria signed by Agba-Akin  Bolu Omodele, its National President, it said the election implies a “fresh start for our country, we call on all Nigerians to support General Buhari’s vision of a corrupt free government that works only for the people”.

The Egbe also commended the high level statesmanship displayed by President Goodluck Jonathan and President-Elect Muhammadu Buhari especially after such biting rhetoric that overheated the political field.

“We applaud President Jonathan for his brisk concession and appreciate General Buhari’s gesture of extending a hand of fellowship and cooperation to all Nigerians irrespective of their political persuasions. It is our hope that the example been set by these two leaders will become the new standard in our political experience moving forward”, it said and enjoined both leaders to continue in this spirit of respect and cooperation until the successful transfer of power on May 29, 2015.

They also cautioned that as Nigerians go out again on April 11 to elect their governors, “we call on politicians across the country to desist from violent activities and imitate the sportsmanship example shown by President Goodluck Jonathan and President-Elect Muhammadu Buhari”.
