Student allegedly defraud licenced mobile money operator
Abuja – The police on Thursday arraigned a student, Goodluck Welley, in an Upper Area Court in Mpape, Abuja, for allegedly defrauding a
Welley, 20, of no 2, Rumekeli street, Port Harcourt, Rivers, is charged with with criminal conspiracy, Impersonation, forgery and cheating.
The Prosecution Counsel, Edwin Ochayi, told the court that the defendant and and one other now at large went to Wuse market and other places within Abuja and duped agents of Funds and Electronic Transfer Solutions( FETS) of N500, 000.
Ochayi said the defendant gave fake FETS branded corporate gifts and promised to deliver POS machines to them.
He said that during Police investigation, it was established that he defrauded FETS agents and other agents in Rivers, Delta Niger and Nassarawa state.
Ochayi said the case was reported to Commissioner of Police by legal Resources Alliance, Martins Chambers on on behalf of FETS on Jan. 13 at Mpape Police station.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 97, 132, 363, 322 of the Penal Code.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The Judge, Salihu Ibrahim, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N 2 million, with one sureties in like sum.
Ibrahim adjourned the case until Feb. 25 for hearing. (NAN)
