Mailafia said he is not the only one in the country that has made statements bordering on national security, adding that government should take him to court if they feel otherwise.

The former CBN boss who was later released, after undergoing over 3 hours interrogation at DSS headquarters in Jos on Monday, also said continues invitation by the DSS is jeopardising his health condition.

Our correspondent reports that this is the third time he is honouring the DSS invitation in one month.

He was however released at about 2:50 p.m, with cheers from his supporters.
Speaking after his release, he commended the DSS for their professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

According to him: “the DSS exhibited high sense of professionalism in the way they handled me during their interrogation exercise”.

“l was not maltreated, harassed or intimated in any guise”. He explained that what he said has nothing to with politics: “l only spoke as a free citizens of this country and as such, l am the voice of the thousands of the voiceless of the citizens of this country”.

Mailafia, further explained that Muslims and Christian youths have accepted him as their voice, so, he is the voice of the holy martyrs, adding that “if l parish, l parish. God help Nigeria”, he maintained.
