Stocks market opens week on red as NSE ASI declines by 0.85%

The Nigeria equities market closed the first trading day of the week in red as the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) All Share Index shed declined by -0.85%.to close at 44,261.72
The equities market capitalization also close lower at N15,883,600,706,202.91, while the bond and ETF market capitalization also closed at N9,663,154,096,025.18 and N7,639,549,795.39 respectively.
Meanwhile. a total of 426,873,153.00 million shares worth N2,766,454,069.85 billion was transacted by investors in 5,741.00 deals.
Supply pitched against demand making market breadth index to close negative as 34 stocks declined against 22 stocks that gained.
Beta glass led the to five advancers for the da with Top five advancers with 4.97% to close at N65.45 per share, followed by ZENITHBANK with 2.19% gain to close at N32.65 per share while PZ placed third on the gainers table with 2.38% gain to close at N23.65 per share.
NB gained 0.35 per cent to close at N145 per share, while DANGSUGAR closed the top five gainers table with 1. Per cent to close vat N21 per share.
DANGCEM led te top five decliners with -2.88%, closing at N270 per share, followed by Forte oil with -4.95% equity price loss to close at N46.05 per share, while JBERGER lost 1.35 per cent to close trade at N28.65 per share.
WAPCO declined by -1.85% to close at N53 per share, while CADBURY closed the top five losers table wit 3.13 per cent, closing at N15.5 per share.
FCMB with 101,495,928 shares valued N303,316,589.19 emerged the most traded stock, followed by SKYEBANK with 48,341,930 shares worth N66,368,130.75 while DIAMONDBNK as the third most traded stock pulled 31,540,287 shares worth N100,205,767.58
TRANSCORP as the forth most transacted stock recorded turnover of 27,731,637 stocks worth N63,535,361.40, while AIICO with 27,627,169 stocks valued N24,311,828.72 clods the top five most traded stocks for the day.
