Why South Senatorial District Should Produce Next Ekiti State Governor

The race to the Oke Ayoba 2018 in Ekiti State is gathering momentum as aspirants are emerging from various political parties.

Aspirants in the All Progressive Congress (APC) so far include;  Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, Rt. Hon. Femi Bamisile Dr. Adebayo Orire, Hon. Bimbo Daramola, Hon. Bamidele Faparusi, Senatror Gbenga Aluko, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Senator Ayo Arise, Otunba Yinka Akerele, Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele, Hon. Debo Ranti, Dr. Femi Thomas, Dr. Owolabi S., and Chief Sesan Fatoba.

Others are; Chief Yemi Adaramodu, Hon Funminiyi Afuye, Hon. Bayo Idowu, Otunba Bisi Aloba, Chief Dele Okeya, Bodunde Adeyanju, Kayode Adaramodu, Engr. Segun Oni, Capt. Sunday Adebomi, Bayo Babalotin, Mr. Kola Alabi, Kola Adu, Kole Ajayi, Diran Adesua, Sir Kayode Oladipupo, Mr. Isola Fapohunda and Olajide Akinyemi. (Junior)

Those in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are; Dr. Kolapo Olusola, Senator Biodun Olujimi, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, Owoseni Ajayi, Bisi Omoyeni, Surv. Abiodun Aluko, Rt. Hon. Tunji Odeyemi and Senator Bode Ola. While UPN has Mr. Alegbeleye Oladipupo. The aspirants are from the three senatorial districts of Ekiti State and have constituted a big problem for the political parties involved.

The contention is that Ekiti central senatorial produced the first civilian governor in the person of Otunba Niyi Adebayo and Peter Ayodele Fayose who is serving the second term. Also Ekiti North Senatorial District has produced Engr. Segun Oni and Dr. Kayode Fayemi as governors of the State. It is the consensus of the people that the South senatorial District should produce the next governor of Ekiti State.

Consequently, it is very clear that any party that fails to produce its candidate from the senatorial district will not have the support of the people of the place who feel marginalized. As a result of this position, aspirants from the South Senatorial District see themselves as having the upper hand over their counterparts from other districts. They are now redoubling their efforts at garnering support of their electorate and particularly their parties.

At the forefronts of aspirants on the platform of APC in the South Senatorial District, is Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, a medical doctor, who has been oiling his political machinery in order to secure the party’s ticket for the 2018 gubernatorial election. Dr. Oluyede, who hails from Ikere Ekiti has already embarked on house to house mobilization and canvassed for support for his aspiration and his party, APC.

Oluyede has to his credit; some outstanding qualities that made him the prime aspirant from the South. He is a long standing consistent member of the party who had never for once had any cause to go to other party since he  joined the party in about 15 years ago when the party was still Action Congress (AC), and his father, Chief Folarin Oluyede, till his death was a progressive party man to the core who was one of the party leaders and funding father even when the party was still Alliance for Democracy (AD)  during  which he was also the leader of the party in Ikere Ekiti before he died.

His Father before he died had contributed immensely to the development of the party at the local Government level and as well as the state, this which his son, Dr. Oluyede who believed in his father’s principle as core progressive and humanitarian  joined the party later also continued in the same direction and has equally contributed immensely to the development of the state, his party and the APC government in the state.

For instant, Dr Oluyede ‘s financial commitment to the party before the JKF government, during and even after still remain  unrivalled because he was doing all this for the love of his party at heart without thinking of any ambition.

Oluyede’s governorship ambition which unfolded not quite long because he agreed to the persuasions of people to run  is gaining grounds like fire in the Harmattan because his assistance and contributions to some individuals lives and to his party speak for him.

Investigations revealed that Oluyede has been committed to payment of salary of staffs of his Party, APC since early last year, 2016 and has continued without reneging at any time.

Already, he has empowered over 2,000 persons across the state, South-West, and Nigeria through Scholarship and other personal empowerment while his-60 room, Green Hill Hotel, Ikere Ekiti which is awaiting commissioning will employ over 100  workers.

Dr. Oluyede who has also acquired Hectares of Land for the proposed Ultra-modern Hospital at Ikere Ekiti is out to prove to all and sundry that he means well for Ekiti people.
