Sodomy: Man arrested for luring school boys into act

A sodomite has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for luring teenage boy into the act through the social media.

The suspect whose identity wasn’t disclosed by the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni who detailed newsmen about the incident at a press briefing held in Lagos on Tuesday, was said to be luring his victims with a promise of a new phone.

Owoseni stated that most of the victim were secondary school student, who the suspect always send friend request to, start discussing with them and subsequently promise them a phone which he would agree to give them when they meet.

The Commissioner of police therefore called on parents and guardians to be watchful and vigilant especially with those their children relates with on the social media platforms.

In another case, a driver, who works with one of the big mobile phone dealers in Lagos (name withheld) has been arrested by the Lagos State police for diverting a vehicle with telephone and laptops worth N6 million.

The Daily Times gathered that the suspect had produced a fake guarantors name and address and upon diverting the vehicle it became difficult to trace him.

Upon intelligence gathering, the driver was however tracked to Kaduna State where he had sold part of the diverted goods which were later recovered alongside a vehicle purchased from the proceeds of the sales.

Owoseni however advised, ” it is important for organisations and individuals to involve the police when they are employing private staff such as cooks, drivers, gardeners and so on. Let them allow us profile them before employing them to avoid occurrences as this”

He also assured Lagosian of adequate security in all the events lined up for the celebration of the 50th anniversary celebration of the state.
