Six Catholic priests have so far been kidnapped by bandits in Kaduna State. One of the priests was killed, one is over two and half years in captivity till now and four regained their freedom, to the glory of God.

The Archbishop of Kaduna and Metropolitan Archbishop of Kaduna Ecclesiastical Province (KEP), Most Revd (Dr.) Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso, made the assertion in an interview with journalists in Kawo Kaduna.

“I’ve six of my priests kidnapped, one is still in captivity for two and half years plus. One was killed in Malunfashi. But we thank God we’ve four of them who are back”, the Bishop said.

According to him, anybody can create hatred for seeing some people on the street and think that they look like kidnappers and start misbehaving toward them.

“And so we’ve duty to calm people down and that’s what we’re doing now.

On 2023, he attributed the problem to the impatience of Nigerian politicians who would not settle down in office to work before talking about a second term.

“The problem is that some politicians who are yet to settle down in office as Governors, but begin to talk of the next election without working for people who elected them.

“If you know you have performed, you don’t even need to worry about your second term.

On kidnapped Bethel Baptist students and others, he said they’ve run out of ideas on what to talk about the innocent children in captivity.

According to him, the inability of the leadership to protect lives and property of citizenry, which is the primary responsibility of every government, shows that they’ve failed woefully.
