Six in Kano police net for gang rape

The Kano State Police Command has arrested six boys for allegedly gang raping a sixteen year old girl from Hotoro Quarters in Kano.

The boys who were said to be familiar with the girl, whose name and identity could not be disclosed for security reasons, were said to have staged a scene when the girl and her female friend were accompanying her friend’s boyfriend, who happened to be one of them after he had visited her at her place for evening discussion, popularly known as Zance in Hausa. It was on their way that some of the friends who were positioned at a strategic location appeared with the aim to harass her and her boyfriend, while the others came to their aid as good Samaritan but the girl, who had no knowledge of what was in the offing, was deceived by her helpers as she was made to follow them home all in the name of trying to escape where all the six later gathered on her to her greatest dismay and gang raped her.

Confirming the incidence, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer DSP Magaji Majia identify the suspects as Usman Hassan, Hassan Adamu, Ibrahim Aliyu, Abdulwahab Muhammad, Yusuf Ibrahim and Faruk Muhammad and that all the six had since told the Police that they all took part in the crime.
