Simi’s apology to LGBTQ community is hypocritical – Social media users

Nigerian singer, Simi has apologised over the homophobic comments she made about the Lesbians, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community.
In a statement released on the music star’s Twitter page on Monday, August 3, Simi tendered an unreserved apology over the comments she made during her YouTube show ‘Stoopid Sessions.’
“I carelessly and casually addressed an issue that is a matter of life and death for many. It was not my intention to you, but I did and I am sorry,” part of the apology note read.

Simi said she may not know how the LGBT community works but she’s learning to understand how it works.
Daily Times gathered that the music star’s apology is coming months after she made a statement about the LGBT community in one of the episodes of her show.
However, her apology which seemed to have been accepted by the LGBTQ community was later rejected after Simi’s husband, Adekunle Gold posted an update on his Instagram account revealing he would be featuring in a queer magazine – quazar magazine.

The LGBTQ community thinks the apology is deceptive and manipulating.
