Shun Violence, NURTW Boss Tells Members
The Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Ekiti chapter, Mr Taiwo Akinyode, has warned its members to shun violence during and after Saturday’s elections.
Speaking in Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State on Friday, Akinyode, urged members with PVCs to go out and exercise their civic responsibility in a peaceful manner.
“In the past, commercial drivers were known as agents of hooliganism and pets in the hands of irrational politicians, but those bad eggs are no more members of the union. We are responsible and patriotic Nigerians who always support idea that can bring development and solidify the unity of Nigeria.
“In view of this, no member of the union should misbehave or allow himself to be sent on disruptive mission during and after elections,’’ he said.
Akinyode further called on members of the union to obey the order on restriction of movement to avoid embarrassment or arrest by security operatives.
