‘She Is Made of More’ — Miss Nigeria Kicks Off 2026 Journey with Fashion Fair
The Miss Nigeria Organisation has announced the launch of the Miss Nigeria Beauty and Fashion Fair, scheduled to hold on March 22 and 23, 2026, at Eko Hotel, Lagos.
The two-day fair will formally signal the start of the Miss Nigeria 2026 season, a year-long journey that will culminate in the crowning of a new queen under the theme, “She is Made of More.”
For decades, Miss Nigeria has positioned itself as more than a beauty pageant. As the country’s oldest pageant platform, it has consistently highlighted women who have gone on to build careers and make impact across business, medicine, the arts and advocacy. The 2026 campaign theme draws from that legacy, placing emphasis on substance, resilience and leadership beyond physical beauty.
According to the organisers, the “She is Made of More” campaign celebrates women whose influence extends beyond the runway, while encouraging a new generation to step confidently into leadership and enterprise. The broader message will also extend into a complementary campaign titled “Nigerians are Made of More,” aimed at reinforcing national pride and potential.
This year’s fair will also reflect a strong sense of heritage. In a strategic collaboration, the event will be hosted alongside the Daily Times Young Designer of the Year competition. The competition has over the years shaped the careers of some of Nigeria’s most respected names in fashion, including Folorunsho Alakija.

By bringing both platforms together, the organisers say they are creating a space where beauty, fashion and enterprise intersect. The fair is expected to provide emerging designers, young entrepreneurs and aspiring beauty queens with opportunities for exposure, networking and mentorship.
Rita Dominic, chairman of the Miss Nigeria Organisation, described the fair as a significant milestone for the brand’s 2026 season.
“We are thrilled to kick off the Miss Nigeria 2026 season with the Beauty and Fashion Fair,” she said. “This event is more than just a celebration of beauty and fashion; it is a testament to the strength, resilience, and boundless potential of Nigerians, both men and women.”
She added that the campaign represents a deeper mission beyond selecting a titleholder.
“Through the Miss Nigeria 2026 ‘She is Made of More’ campaign and the subsequent ‘Nigerians are Made of More’ campaign, we are not just crowning a queen; we are empowering a generation of leaders who will shape the future of our nation and the world,” Dominic said.
Over the years, Miss Nigeria has evolved from a traditional pageant into a platform rooted in culture, heritage and values. The organisation says it remains committed to creating pathways for young women to grow into leaders and change-makers while preserving Nigerian identity.
The Beauty and Fashion Fair is expected to feature exhibitions from emerging brands, industry conversations, networking sessions and interactive showcases designed to spotlight ambition, creativity and enterprise.
For young designers, aspiring contestants and stakeholders in Nigeria’s fashion and creative industries, the event marks the official starting point of the 2026 Miss Nigeria journey.
