SGF vows full digitization of documents as office launches 1-Gov Cloud system
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume has pledged full digitization of records and administrative processes in his office to boost digital governance, efficiency and transparency under the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSIP 2025).
Sen. Akume made the assurance at the flag-off ceremony of the 1-Government (1 Gov) Cloud Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) in Abuja Wednesday led by Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson Jack.
He described the ECMS as a secure, integrated platform for managing official records, workflows and inter ministerial communications. “As the coordinating hub of government policies and programmes, this system will improve timing, accuracy and decision making,” Sen. Akume said.
Mrs. Walson Jack commended the SGF and his team for adopting the ECMS to digitize processes and enhance accountability.
She noted that the office, which coordinates Federal Executive Council (FEC) business and liaises with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), can no longer rely on paper-based systems for the speed and precision required.
“With ECMS on the 1-Gov Cloud platform, records become secure, trackable, and instantly accessible,” she added. “It enables electronic approvals, automates workflows, and drives better performance across the civil service.”
