Seven suspected armed robbers, cultists nabbed in Lagos

The Lagos state Police Command have paraded a seven –man-gang of suspected armed robbers said to be members of Eiye Confraternity operating within the Oyingbo and Ebutta-Meta areas of Lagos.

The suspects whose  names were given as Kazeem Idris,  Jinadu Mufutau,  Fuad Azees,  Ramonu Sanusi,  Rilwanu Ayinde (a.k.a Alesh), Sodiq Kolade and Muyideen Ibrahim were arrested  by officers from the Denton Police Division and later transferred to the State Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) Department in Lagos.

According to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Owoseni who paraded the suspects at the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja, investigations revealed that the suspects were arrested in the early hours of Tuesday, 19 April, 2016 after the gangs had robbed  Point Hotel Ebutte-Metta,  Moonshine Hotel Borno Way Ebutte- Meta and Minister Excellence Hotel at Apapa Road, all in Lagos.

Information also had it that the suspects were responsible for robbing a living apartment and killing of people in Evan Square in the last two months.

CP Owoseni noted that the suspects were caught with one locally made pistol, two live cartridges and some charms and that investigation is ongoing, while effort is in progress for the possible arrest of two fleeing members of the gang, Dagba Oshanleke and Sadiq Kashi.

One of the suspects, Sadiq Kolade, 22 who spoke with The Daily Times, said he is a cobbler from Abeokuta in Ogun State. “I  started this armed robbery  business since 2012  with my gang members, Waheed Shoara, Baba Ajara,  Sego, Taiwo Ariremako at Oyingbo in Ebute-Meta. We usually rob in areas like Ondo, Tapa, Tago Oyingbo, Ibadan, Lagos and Osholake Streets all in Oyingbo area. Our team has 4 rifles and we rob items like phone, laptop, money and other valuables.

“We had a leader by name Sunday Terror, but he is now dead. Mukaila Omoshoko is the second in command and the leader of Eiye confraternity in Oyingbo area of Lagos. I have never involved myself in killing anybody, but I robbed.” He confessed.

Also giving his confessional statement, 22-years-old Fuadi Azees, claimed he is a traditional herbalist form Isheyin, in Oyo State.

22-year-old Ramon Sanusi a.ka Osaremon confesssed that six other gang members and himself went to rob Moonshine Hotel at Borno way by Coal street last week Friday at about 10 pm with weapons and charms. I have been doing the business since last year and my parent did not have the slightest knowledge that I am a robber; they only know I was often involved in street fights.”

Sanusi also mentioned Fuadi Fami, Lekan Story, Abdulai Scopion, Kashimawo Small Sobo, Omo Gomina, Okiki, Eti, Ibrahim Saro, Hyke, Abbey Church, Baba Soburu, Sodiq Ete, Raheem  Balotele, Jide Jamal, Baba Sunday, Folapa, Hammed Eba, Rasheed Ilefo, Quadri Kiso, Aloma Idris  and Asuka Isreal as membesr of the Eiye Confraternity in Oyingbo area. He also claimed that those people were solely responsible for the many killings associated with the gang in Oyingbo and Ebuta-meta areas of Lagos.
