Senator Foster loses second term senatorial bid to Dickson ally

The immediate past commissioner for works and infrastructure in Bayelsa State, Hon. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, has clinch the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ticket in the just concluded Bayelsa West senatorial District Party Primary/Nomination election.
Lawrence who got Dickson’s nod to contest scored a total of 247 votes against the 2 votes obtained by the serving Senator Foster Ogula.
Bayelsa West Senatorial district comprises of Sagbama Local Government where Governor Dickson hails from and Ekeremor Local Government Area.
The PDP delegates from the 26 wards voted Yesterday amidst heavy security presence at the Senatorial headquarters, Sagbama town, Bayelsa state.
Meanwhile, the name of the Senator was omitted from the list of delegates who voted in the election.
Declaring the outcome of the election, the returning officer, Mr Danied Onifade announced that having pulled the highest number of votes in the exercise, Lawrence was declared and returned winner of the election.
Commending the part stakeholders in his acceptance speech, Ewhrudjakpo, promised to give a face lift to Sagbama which according to him is underdeveloped with no Federal institution.
