Senator Akintunde empowers district with police recruitment

The senator representing Oyo Central district, Dr. Yunus Akintunde, has facilitated the recruitment and training of not less than 25 youths from the senatorial district into the Nigeria Police Force.

The Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs did this “as a demonstration of commitment to youth empowerment and community development.”

A statement by his media aide, Kunle Olatunji, at the weekend, disclosed that the development was made open at the Passing-Out Parade of newly recruited police officers at the Oyo State Police Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, on January 23.

Olatunji said, in a statement at the weekend, that “Senator Akintunde has continued to empower individuals and strengthen communities through impactful initiatives, leaving a legacy of hope and progress in Oyo Central Senatorial District.

“This new development is a testament to his love for the well being of the people of the district.”

Seyegolden, shared the inspiring story of how Senator Akintunde transformed Opeyemi Sunday Gabriel’s life, helping him move from being an Okada rider to a proud Nigerian Police Officer.

Seyegolden said in Facebook post that: “When we were in a hopeless situation, you renewed our hope. We will forever be grateful for this unforgettable legacy.”

Olatunji quoted the se story as saying that “the hoards of people coming to thank me for facilitating their job placements should just see me as doing the job they gave me

“What I need to go to the Senate to do is to lobby and use my position to better the lot of the people of my district and assist in making laws to make our country, Nigeria, better.”
