Senate confirms Musiliu Smith as PSC chair, 6 others
Senate on Tuesday confirmed the appointments of Mr. Musiliu Smith, a former Inspector General of Police as chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
Also confirmed were Justice Clara Ogunbiyi (rtd) (North East) full time commissioner, and Lawal Bawa retired Assistant Inspector General (North West) full time commissioner.
Other confirmed members of board of the commission are Muhammad Najatu (North West), Braimoh Adogame Austin (South South), Barr. Tommy Mom (North Central) and Dr. Nkemka Oshimiri Jombo-Ofo (South East).
Their confirmations followed senate deliberation on the report of its committee on Police Affairs presented by the chairman, Senator Abu Ibrahim (APC, Katsina South).
Their appointments is in compliance with the provisions of Section 153(1) and 154(1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
