It was all joy and admiration weekend as the senator representing Abia Central in the Senate, Theodore Orji, mounted the bulldozer to flag off the Umuariaga ring road in Ikwuano LGA.
Reacting to the expression of happiness and adoption for the second term by the people of the area, the Senator, Theodore Orji urged the people to be steadfast with him and the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the state as “we will not disappoint you”.
Having seen the importance of the road to the people, the senator said he had thought about the road and had promised that he will do it.
“I am also pained by the revelation that the community has no health centre”, he said and promised them to look towards that direction soon, pleading with them to ensure to vote him in for a second tenure to enable him come back and finish the projects he has in mind, especially the health centre project.
The senator also assured them that before the end of December, he will sink five water boreholes for them through their own sons as the contractors, while also disclosing that he will make efforts to include the federal road in the area in the federal budget “for the federal government to come and build them and to remove the burden from the state government”.
He stated that all the good things being done in the state are being done by the PDP in the state and called for their support for all PDP candidates in the forthcoming general election in 2019.
Earlier in her speech, the Executive Chairman of Ikwuano LGA, Ezinne Ngozi Elizabeth Oji extolled the virtues of Sen. Orji, explaining the importance of the Umuariaga ring road to the people of Ikwuano.
In his welcome address, the President General of Umuariaga Community Development Union, Pastor Chuks Alamba described the senator’s legacy projects when he was the governor still stand the taste of time “as well as still impact on the lives of the down trodden” while his active participation in the senate has “led to people-oriented programmes and projects throughout your constituency”.
