Security firm faults Bayelsa assembly over crime allegations

An Indigenous security firm, Darlon Security and Guards (DSG), has dismissed a resolution passed by the Bayelsa State House of Assembly accusing it of criminal acts in its operations at the creeks and swampy areas of the state, describing the allegation as “ill-conceived, malicious, unfounded and politically motivated”.

The Assembly on July 11, 2018, passed a resolution after deliberating on a motion sponsored by a member representing Sagbama constituency 2, Col. Bernard Kenebai (rtd) alleging that the company was involved in criminal acts at the creeks.

The resolution which followed a motion under matters of urgent public importance also called on the governor of the state to urgently intervene to stop the alleged killing of innocent citizens in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state.
