Security agents invaded a community in Ado Ekiti to stop menace of LGBTQ+ activities

Some officers raided an apartment in Ado Ekiti yesterday in respect of the information gathered from the residents of the community on July 9, 2023 that some people engaged in same sex activities because it was not in line with the marriage Act of Nigeria. Since then police have been on surveillance for them.

But nemesis caught up with one of them recently named Soji Aregbesola, who was caught with illicit act with his same sex partner and was arrested by policemen while trying to escape but his colleagues were fortunate to run away.

The resident of the area dissociated themselves from the the same sex activities of these boys, some of the occupants of the area said they saw stranged faces some couple of weeks ago but they taught it was because of the yearly canival the youths are trying to organize and that was why they are unable to report to the appropriate authority at that time.

While interogating Soji Aregbesola at the police station by police officers, he confessed that their ring leader named Ijatuyi Kehinde Martins and their associates, namely,
Ikodan Ojo, Odiada Kola Rufus, Ojo Apasile and their coordinator Opeyemi Oluwayomi Odeboju have already run away and were yet to be arrested.

Kehinde was the one that always act as their leader on regular basis but unfortunate he had already ran away as a result of the incident that happened to him in July 9, 2023 in respect of his sexual activities with his partner in an undisclosed area in Ado-Ekiti. He was able to escape on the day of the incident.

During discussion with one of the residents in that area by our reporter, we got to know that their ring leader Kehinde Martins Ijatuyi have been engaging in LGBTQ activities with his other colleagues in the eastern part of the countries prior to this incident. Since the allegation was levelled against Kehinde and his colleagues, all efforts to look for them proved abortive.

However, our repoter was informed by one of the residents that Ijatuyi Kehinde Martins had run away for fear of being arrested by police authority.

According to one of the officers which sort to remain anonymous, he said since some parents failed in their responsibility to train their children and prohibit them against the same sex activities the police authority will not fold their arms and allow this act to escalate to the entire community due to the fact that same sex relationship violates the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria and norms of his community.

Our reporter said the police authority emphasized that what is critical to them now is how to find out how Ijatuyi Kehinde Martins and his colleagues especially their coordinator, Opeyemi Oluwayomi Odeboju who are yet to be arrested and they had already placed them on watchlist. They confirmed to our reporter that all their divisional police stations have been contacted to arrest them on sight.
