Savage Xtra Releases Brand New Video “SANKO”

Lagos-based Nigerian musician Uche Barry Nwachukwu, known by his stage name “Savage Xtra,” has just released a new video for “Sanko” from his latest album “Young, Blessed & Dangerous,” which also features the hit single “Daily Prayers featuring Ejima 042.”

The track “Sanko” blends smooth lyrics, captivating vocals, and traditional Afrobeat rhythms, promising to get listeners moving to the groove.

When asked about the inspiration behind the song, Barry explained, “I wanted to write something relatable to everyone who has been hustling all their life, even when it’s difficult.

Those who have been incarcerated or held back by society because they were misunderstood. I’m sure this has been everyone’s story at some point in their life.” The song was produced by the fast-rising producer Camzy and is the third track on the “YBD” album, which was released on June 6, 2024.

Savage Xtra’s music is a mix of Afrobeat and Afropop sounds that are popular worldwide, drawing inspiration from legendary artists like Fela Anikulapo Kuti, 2Face Idibia, and PSquare.

Known to his fans as the “Religious Fela,” Savage Xtra describes his genre of music as Afro Highlife and Hip Hop, sprinkled with reality and hard knocks.
