Sanusi assumes Office as NFF Scribe
Following the impromptu resignation of Musa Amadu as the General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Wednesday night, Dr. Sanusi Mohammed has assumed office with promises of addressing the sporting media today.
Mohammed, former Director of Competitions and International Department before the promotion said he will work in harmony with the media and members of staff of the federation in order to move the country’s football forward.
He assured members of staff during his meeting with the management that he will run an open door policy and all inclusive administration, noting that he will ensure better workers welfare.
Some staff who pleaded anonymity told Extra Time that the assumption of office by Mohammed is a sign of good things to come to the staff in particular and football administration in general.
Amadu was said to have resigned after a misunderstanding between him and the NFF boss, Amaju Pinnick over the $3.6 million intervention fund given to the federation by the federal government to settle players and officials’ allowances at the last FIFA World Cup in Brazil in 2014.
It was gathered that the House Committee on Sports had ordered the federation not to refund the money to the federation account adding that such fund was part of 2014 budgetary allocation.
