Robbers who disguise as okada riders nabbed in Lagos

Three notorious highway robbers who disguise as Okada riders have been arrested by operatives from the Raider team of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Lagos State Police Command.
The suspects identified as Kehinde Ramon (20), Afolabi Ibrahim (23) and Sheriff Ogundeji (25) operate around Okokomaiko, Igando, Pipeline and Ajangbadi axis.
Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command , Mr Imohimi Edgal, who paraded the suspects before journalists at the Command Headquaters in Ikeja, said Ramon had attempted to snatch a lady’s (names withheld) handbag at Okokomaiko, but luck ran out on him and he was arrested.
Edgal said Ramon led detectives to arrest the other two members of his gang.
The Lagos CP said, “ On August 22, 2018 at Okokomaiko, operatives of the Command arrested Ramon who is an Okada rider but behind the scene, he is a notorious highway robber with specialty in attacking commuters, snatching handbags from unsuspecting ladies. Infact he robs whenever the opportunity presents itself.
“ During interrogation, he confessed that he is a traffic robber and that he usually operates with members of his gang along Okokomaiko, Pipeline, Igando and Ajangbadi axis. Further revelations from him led to the arrest of
Afolabi Ibrahim and Sheriff Ogundeji at Odusan Street behind Akesan market Igando.”
Items recovered from the suspects are one Italian made pistol; one locally made double barrel pistol; several ammunition and their operational motorcycle.
Edgal said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
