Rivers police arrest armed bandits, impound vehicle

Residents of Mile 1, Diobu in Port Harcourt, capital of Rivers State were edgy on Monday morning as suspected robbers returning from their devilish operation were ambushed by security operatives, foiling their act, leading to the arrest of one and impounding their vehicle.The incident happened in the early hours of Monday morning along Kalabari Street.

The suspected armed robbers were making their way through the street from Ikwerre Road but were obstructed by commercial taxis loading on the street.

However, the suspected robbers, running out of patience, allegedly shot into the air to scare the drivers and passersby in order to clear the road, thereby attracting the attention of security operatives from the Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad (FSARS) who quickly intervened, arresting one of the suspected robbers, while others escaped unhurt.
