Rivers PDP salutes Governor Wike as more awards pour in

The Rivers State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Felix Obuah, has again commended Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike on the conferment of Man of the Year 2016 Award on him by yet another newspaper, the Independent Newspapers Limited.
In a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Friday the chairman stated that the PDP was elated at the news of the award which was coming barely two weeks after similar awards were bestowed on the Governor by The Sun and the Authority Newspapers, respectively.”
Chief Obuah, who described the awards as twin Christmas and New Year gifts to the Governor by Nigerians, said that the honour was well deserved as Governor Wike had remained faithful in his developmental services to Rivers people.
The PDP chairman further described the string of awards on the governor as a bold statement and testament of his quest to transform the State for the good of all.
He also commended The Sun, the Authority, and the Independent Newspapers for their forthrightness and sense of purpose which were visible hallmarks ingrained on the award-winning Governor.
The PDP chairman urged the governor to see the awards as a call to do more, assuring that the party would give him every support to enable him deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.
“Governor Wike is a performer per excellence and we in the PDP believe that these awards are just the tip of the iceberg,” he said, adding: “In less than two years of his administration, Governor Wike has exceeded expectations. He has already achieved what his predecessor and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, could not achieve in eight years. It will be awards galore in the months to come,” Chief Obuah declared.
