Ritual lands prophet in prison

The prosecutor, Insp Emmanuel Abdullahi, told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 20, 2017 around 10:00 pm at Mosarajo area via Ile-Ife.

Abdullahi said that the accused conspired among themselves to commit felony to wit: ritual.

He added that the accused armed themselves with some charms informed of a garment with an intention to aid some notorious crime like armed robbery, kidnapping, house and shops burgling among others.

Abdullahi explained further that the accused conducted themselves in a manner that caused mayhem by driving along in a vehicle with an inscription Ekundayo on the road.

According to him, the accused came down from their vehicle and started dragging each other with an alarm which will attracted people in the area to come out of their house in that odd hour.

Abdullahi said that their behaviours against the norms and ethic of entire nation, adding that the offence contravened sections 213, 249 (d) and 516 of the state penal code.

The plea of the accused was not taken, despite the fact that their defence counsel, Mr Alaba Awoseemo pleaded for their bail in most Libra term.

Magistrate Olalekan Ijiyode asked their counsel to come by way of written application, ordered for the remanded of the accused persons in prison custody.

Ijiyode adjourned the case to June 13, for hearing of the bail application.

Meanwhile, Mr Komolafe Olawale, a.k.a. ” were nise Oluwa” said that he was the complainant that was coming from Ifewara, in Atakumosa East, when he heard alarming voice seeking for rescue.

Olawale said that he courageously branched to the scene of the crime, discovers that it was a planned work, noted that the accused intended to robbed and use anyone caught for rituals.

According to him, one of the landlords that spoke with him (name withheld), said that the perpetrators had been robbing them at night time without numbers.
