Rescue Chibok Girls before May 29, BBOG Tells Jonathan

Leaders of the Bring Back Our Girls campaign group have tasked the outgoing Jonathan administration to make good its declaration that the over 200 schoolgirls kidnapped from the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, would be rescued before May 29.

The group maintained their belief that, the return of the girls remained paramount and would stand as a symbol and prove that the nation was succeeding in the war against insurgency.

They, however, commended the military for the release of over 1,00o citizen that had been held in captivity and for pushing in to dislodge the Boko Haram terrorist, who now appear to be under immense pressure.

However, they want the military to ensure that in the giant strides been made the girls are located as quickly as possible especially in the face of reports that women are said to have been amongst those who confronted the military during the exercise in in the Sambisa Forest.

The girls were taken from their school’s dormitory on April 14, 2014 and have been in the custody of terrorists group since then.

For over one year, the Bring Back Our Girls campaigners have consistently tried to put pressure on the government to do more in efforts to rescue the girls.

Military counter-terrorism operations had increased after elections were postponed on February 7, leading to the rescue of women and children held captive by the terrorist group trying to establish an Islamic State in the north-east.
