Rerun: Abe’s election victory will be short-lived, says Rivers PDP

*Demands arrest, prosecution of NDDC Executive Director, Finance/Administration over killing, maiming of PDP members
Still brooding over the loss of the Rivers South East Senatorial District in the December 10 rerun election of Rivers State, the state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has warned Senator Magnus Abe, the winner of that seat, under the All Progressives Congress, APC, not to jubilate yet.

In a statement from the office of the Chairman of the PDP and signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Jerry Needam, the PDP said that it was confident that the jubilation by Senator Abe would be short-lived “as the truth behind his emergence unfolds.”

The Chairman who regretted what he described as the despicable manner in which Senator Abe, Hon. Barry Mpigi, Mr. Derrick Mene and other chieftains of the APC in Ogoni allegedly connived with the Army, SARS, Police, and APC ‘thugs’ to kill and maim members of the PDP.

The PDP said it was only a matter of time before the truth about the “ill-fated election held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 would be unraveled.”

The party further accused the Senator Abe and the APC of pushing their “desperation to the extent of kicking against the redeployment of the SARS Commander who was caught red-handed by drone cameras hijacking INEC result sheets and other materials.”

According to Chief Obuah, the recent events in the State had allegedly exposed the APC in their “unholy” quest to win elections at all costs, pointing out that the Sahara Reporters audio tape on Governor Nyesom Wike was concocted, condemning it as a ploy to cover up the “atrocities they committed to ensure victory for Magnus Abe and other APC candidates.”

The PDP Chairman stated: “These actions exposed APC’s desperate moves because it knew the game would soon be up as their evil deeds would be exposed, maintaining that Abe had only a day before the ill-conceived, manufactured audio, boasted on a radio programme that an ‘audio evidence’ would soon be released against Governor Wike.” He wondered why Senator Magnus Abe would celebrate a victory allegedly secured through the shedding of innocent blood of PDP members in Ogoni.

Chief Obuah also called for the arrest and prosecution of the Executive Director, Finance/Administration of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mr. Derrick Mene over the alleged killing and maiming of PDP members especially in Khana Local Government Area.

“Mr. Lenee Neebani, PDP Chairman Ward 10 was arrested by Mr. Derrick Mene’s police from his home town and taken to his hotel at Wiiyaakara in Khana Local Government Area of the State, beaten to a state of coma and released on Sunday evening, December 11, 2016. Mr. Lenee Neebani later died the following day in a hospital, following the beating and injuries,” Chief Obuah alleged.
