Reps task FG to tackle erosion menace in Auchi
The House of Representatives on Tuesday, tasked the federal government to tackle the menace of flooding and gully erosion in Auchi with the utmost seriousness and declare the impacted areas as an ecological disaster area.
It also urged the Buhari administration to make additional funds available from the ecological fund to give room for effective control and management of the catastrophe.
This resolution followed a motion by Rep. Johnson Oghuma (APC/Edo) on the need to address the ecological disaster in Auchi/ Etsako Federal Constituency in Edo state.
Rep. Oghuma, moving the motion said that the catastrophic disaster in some parts of Auchi/Etsako Federal Constituency and other areas greatly affected by flooding and gully erosion.
