The House of Representatives on Tuesday received the report of its ad hoc committee on the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB). The bill seeks to address the issues of governance, host communities and provide the regulatory framework for the country’s petroleum industry.
Presenting the report during plenary Tuesday, the Chairman of the ad hoc committee, Rep. Ado Doguwa (Kano/APC) said that the report contained incisive recommendations that will also address the perennial crises in the country’s petroleum industry.

Details of the committee’s recommendations which, remained sketchy as at press time, would be considered by the House at a date to be announced by the leadership of the House.
Daily Times recalls that the Speaker Yakubu Dogara had on June 15, 2017 set up a 15-man ad hoc committee to midwife the oldest bill in the National Assembly to fruition.
